Roof repair and roofing on the Costa Brava
We fix roof leaks, replace broken tiles and renew the roofs of houses and masias on the Costa Brava and in the Baix Empordà.
Roof leaks and broken tiles
Leaks almost always start with something small: a slipped tile, a loose ridge tile, a blocked gutter or a poorly sealed junction with the chimney. We inspect the roof, find where the water is getting in and repair it before it damages beams, ceilings or insulation.
Complete roof renewal
- Removing tiles and salvaging Arabic clay tiles in good condition
- Inspecting and strengthening the roof deck
- Thermal insulation and under-tile waterproofing
- Laying Arabic or interlocking clay tiles
- Gutters, downpipes, ridges and flashings
- Junctions with chimneys, walls and skylights
Roofs on masias and stone houses
On Empordà masias the roof is part of the character of the house. Wherever possible we reuse the old tiles and respect the original shape, combining them with modern insulation and waterproofing. If the roof is part of a full restoration, we plan everything together.
Preventive roof maintenance
A check before autumn, clearing gutters and resetting tiles moved by the wind, prevents most winter leaks. It's especially advisable for second homes that stay closed up for months.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to repair a roof leak?
A one-off repair (resetting tiles, sealing a junction, clearing a gutter) costs much less than renewing the roof. After inspecting it we tell you what's needed and give you a quote.
Can the old roof tiles be reused?
In many cases, yes. Well-preserved old Arabic tiles are cleaned and relaid, combined with new tiles where needed. It's the best way to keep the original look of the house.
When should the roof be checked?
At the end of summer or early autumn, before the heavy rains, and also after a windstorm.
